Bristol City Council

The original contract with Bristol City Council commenced in 2012 for two years; but has since been extended three times, the most recent extension being applied in April 2017. 
 

Commercial Transfer have completed a variety of different sized projects involving removals, storage and crate hire for the council during the contract.

Recent major moves include the decant of a large amount of furniture and equipment which were surplus to the council’s requirement, following a consolidation programme of existing buildings.

As well as the moves of furniture, files and equipment to new location, Commercial Transfer provided an environmentally friendly solution for the redundant furniture, to avoid unnecessary landfill. 
 

Due to our long time commitment to reducing landfill we have developed many contacts and sources for unwanted furniture and equipment. 
 

Some years ago, as there was no existing facility, Commercial Transfer initiated discussions with Bristol City Council, Sofa Project and Green-Works to set up a local facility for surplus or redundant office furniture. 
 

This eventually came to fruition and is now an on-going resource which as well as providing an outlet at a reasonable cost, also offers employment opportunities to disadvantaged people.
