A crate for every need, delivered directly to your site.

We can supply crates as part of a Commercial Transfer move or for direct hire with a fully-computerised delivery and collection service to anywhere in the UK.

All crates are made from strong durable plastic and are able to withstand the rigours of moving. Each type of crate is designed to nest one inside the other when empty and to stack when filled, and where they have integral lids they are shower-proof.

Commercial Transfer are also pleased to offer a crate estimating and advisory service to ensure that you are supplied the correct quantity and type of crate and the appropriate ancillary equipment for your project. This service is completely free of charge and without obligation.

Crates can be delivered to you well ahead of your planned move so that packing can start or if you prefer to organise the actual move yourself, crates are available for direct hire with a fully-computerised delivery and collection service to anywhere in the UK.

Tips for crate use

Please ensure you:

  • make sure you can shut the lids on crates when they are full and if you wish crates to be secure, please order security seals with your crates;

  • only use the I.T crate for PCs;

  • place the first empty crate in the position you wish to leave the stack, and when it is filled flip over its lid and place the next empty crate on top before filling;

  • leave boxed stationery outside the crates as it will be put into cages;

  • refrain from emptying filing cabinets as these can generally be moved full, unless a representative advises otherwise;

  • protect delicate items inside the crate with paper or bubble wrap and clearly mark as "fragile";

  • place our label on the end of the crate in the indicated area only;

  • check the number of crates delivered and collected to avoid charges to your department or company for lost or missing crates – you will be asked to sign at the time of the delivery and collection of crates.

We also request that you:

  • do not overfill the crates or cartons and if the lid does not shut properly use another as overfilled crates cannot be stacked, will take up more space in the removal van and on your office floor, and there is also a chance of items inside being crushed; crates should not weigh more than 25kg in line with our Health and Safety recommendations (please remember paper weighs more than most desk contents);

  • do not use tape of any sort to seal a crate;

  • do not use mailing labels or stick pieces of paper to the crates;

  • in the interest of Health and Safety do not stack the full crates more than 4 high;

  • do not put crates on top of desks as they will scratch;

  • do not use crates for moving building materials such as concrete.
